Review: Zooom/2 for Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard
Without a doubt I’m adding Zooom/2 by CodeRage Software to my list of must-have Mac utilities (which includes applications such as Default Folder X, Dropbox, GeekTool, Growl, NTFS-3G, Perian and Quicksilver).
Zooom/2 is a Mac desktop utility that uses Apple’s public-approved APIs to redefine how you can resize, move and align your application windows – making you faster and more productive. The utility’s tagline sums up its functionality pretty well: “Window stuff, done right“.
Zooom/2 features
By default Zooom/2’s functions are available to all applications, but they can be disabled on an application-by-application basis. The following is a short video overview of the utility’s main features:
Move:
Windows can be repositioned by holding down a key combination and moving the mouse over them.
Resize:

Windows can be resized by holding down a key combination and moving the mouse over them.
Zooom:
Windows can be zoomed by holding down the Move or Resize key combination and double-clicking inside a window, effectively performing the same function as when the green buttons in their titlebars are clicked.
Raise:
Background windows can be raised (focused) by hovering the mouse over them.
Magnetics:
Windows can be docked against other windows, display edges, the Dock, the Menu Bar, or a grid that can be customized on a display-by-display basis.
Special offer for Geekology readers
Zooom/2 is available as a free 30-day trial or can be purchased for use on up to 3 machines for $14.95 USD (~£8.92 GBP / ~R110.83 ZAR).
Geekology readers, however, can get a 15% discount on the software if they use the coupon code “GEEKOLOGYPROMO” when placing their order (this code is valid until the 18th of January 2010).

Zooom2 is a great app. but it has problems with iTunes 9.1.
Try this:
Start Zooom2. Open iTunes and select the column browser from the View menu. If you have more than one page of artists, scroll down on the browser and then try to select an artist.
The browser will reset to the top as soon as the curser enters the browser. Turn off Zooom2 and this does not happen.
Sometimes iTunes crashes when you just hover the cursor over the view menu, or when you move the browser from the left to the top position.
This behavior still happens when iTunes is entered on the Zooom2 “ignore List”.
