Dragon Age: Origins is a dark heroic fantasy adventure for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC by Bioware, publishers of Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate, and MDK.
As the spiritual successor of Bioware’s Baldur’s Gate series of games, it uses a pause-and-play tactical combat system with over-the-shoulder and tactical top-down views, deep character customization and role-playing, morally challenging decisions, tactical party-based combat, and a wealth of gritty, mature sub-plots.
Dragon Age: Origins is a gritty, often bloody adventure with mature themes. It has elements of traditional fantasy like heroes, villians, and magic, but at times the game world is also brutal, dangerous and shocking. The player’s choices change the world and affect the people around them. Players will be able to acquire unique party members with their own motivations for accompanying the player and goals their own goals to achieve, and certain situations, storylines, and conversation options will change drastically depending on the player’s origin and motivations.
Dragon Age: Origins is expected to be released in November of 2009.
