Inserting special symbols on the iPhone with Glyphboard

Glyphboard is an iPhone web application that presents a character palette of symbols supported by the iPhone and Mac OS X but not available on the standard iPhone keyboards.

To install the application, navigate to http://mrgan.com/gb/ with your iPhone, tap the “+” button, then choose “Add to Home Screen“.

To use Glyphboard, tap its icon on your Home Screen, tap and hold on a symbol and select “Copy” to copy it, then navigate to another application, tap and hold on a text area, and choose “Paste” to insert it.

Glyphboard makes use of Mobile Safari’s support of HTML5 offline storage to make the character palette available to users even when the iPhone isn’t connected to a network.
